What can I expect during a Shutterbugs photoshoot?
We will spend ~15 minutes with each family, giving kids a few minutes to warm up and then working to capture their unique personalities. There is no pressure for them to “perform”–they can show up however they wish! There will also be some toys to keep them engaged, music, and a lollipop for reward :)
What should my child wear?
Shutterbug’s goal is to capture the unique, playful, and innocent personality of your little one–so they are welcome to dress however they feel most comfortable! If they have a favorite necklace, pair of sunglasses, lovie, etc. feel free to bring it. With that said, simple clothing tends to photograph better in B&W.
What if my child is shy, woke up on the wrong side of the bed, or doesn’t want to smile?
The beauty of these photos is they are not meant to be perfect, so we have low expectations going into the shoot! I will do everything I can to ease into it with them, build trust, make it fun, and we will capture whatever mood they are in for that moment of the day.
What’s the ideal age of a Shutterbug?
Shutterbug clients rage from 6 months to teenagers. I recommend babies are sitting up on their own before their photoshoot.
What should I bring to a Shutterbug session?
Nothing is needed other than yourself and your little one(s)! If there’s a specific toy or a favorite item in your home you think would help your child smile, laugh, or feel more comfortable feel free to bring it. Otherwise, sit back and I’ll work my magic!
What if I need to cancel?
Life happens, especially with kids, so no stress if your schedule changes. Out of respect for myself (the photographer) and others scheduled that day, please do your best to cancel at least 24 hours in advance, but if it’s last minute, just let me know ASAP and we will work something out. Refunds are not available, but I will always work with you to find another date to reschedule.
Can you deliver photos in color, or only black and white?
Yes! When you receive your gallery, you can choose the photos you want in black and white vs. color.
When can I expect to receive the photos?
You can expect to receive 10 high resolution images to download within 2 weeks of your scheduled shoot date (with the option to purchase the full gallery).
